Under Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Digital Pakistan vision, the Ministry of IT and Telecom is striving to bring an Inclusive Digital Pakistan Policy 2021.
The Pakistan Ministry of IT and Telecommunications (MoITT) is the National Focal Ministry and enables the Government of Pakistan to plan, coordinate, and direct efforts to launch and expand the country’s IT and telecommunications programs and projects. The Digital Pakistan 2021 policy will support Pakistan’s digital transformation by ensuring modern, affordable and credible digital services, in order to increase its citizens’ quality of life and economic well-being.

What’s more, the policy sets out the MOITT’s legislative obligations, including the need to enact the required policy frameworks, laws, and regulations to allow for a sustainable IT climate. In addition, the policy specifies that, among other things, the MOITT shall, by means of applicable data protection legislation, regulate personal data protection and the protection of online privacy to increase transparency and the security of sensitive and confidential information, and establish a cloud-based services framework and regulations for such services.
