The sales number is all the more impressive in light of Sony’s ongoing supply problems with the PS5. Even though the situation has much improved over the past six months, some people still have trouble finding PS5 restocks.

The PS5 shortages are ending, according to Sony CEO, who made the announcement during a press conference. As a result, the console will be widely available and easier to find for customers.

“There’s never been a more exciting time to be a member of the PlayStation community,” said Ryan.
Sony originally set a grandiose aim of selling 100 million PS5 units over the course of the platform’s lifetime, which would rank the PS5 as the fourth best-selling PlayStation system and the sixth-most successful home console launch overall. Hiroki Totoki, the chief financial officer of Sony, previously stated to the Financial Times that the corporation aimed to outsell the PS4 faster.
With the debut of PSVR 2 on February 22 and the DualSense Edge controller on January 26, this year is looking good for PS5 owners. Additionally, in 2023, blockbuster exclusives like Spider-Man 2 and Final Fantasy 16 will be released.
