With the launch of its first official online platform, the Punjab government makes it easy for its people to conveniently buy sacrificial animals without having to leave their homes.

This website allows sacrificial animal purchasing online before Eid-ul-Adha, in keeping with the current practice of using modern technologies for convenience.

The website provides thorough listings of animals together with pictures, weight, age, species, breed, cost, and other relevant information.

According to the MET office, if Pakistani Zilqad lasts 29 days, then on June 8 will be the start of Zilhajj, which would coincide with the Eid-ul-Adha celebration on June 17.

In another case, if Zilqad lasts for thirty days, Eid-ul-Adha will fall on June 18 and Zilhajj on June 9.

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will, however, make the official announcement in Pakistan following the observation of the Zilhajj 1455 moon.

Known also as the Feast of Sacrifice, Eid-ul-Adha is one of the two Eid celebrations commemorated by Muslims in remembrance of Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to offer his son as a sign of devotion to God.

The ritual slaughter of animals and the distribution of the meat to family members and the less fortunate traditionally mark the occasion.

Throughout the three days of Eid, devoted Muslims perform animal sacrifices as part of the customs honoring Prophet Ibrahim.
