OnePlus prepares a great event for the coming months in which we would meet the OnePlus 8 family, made up of three cell phones. Here we will talk about two models, the informally known as OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Lite, and everything we know about this pair.
The first thing you should know is that the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Lite will not be the spearhead of the high-end of the Chinese manufacturer. OnePlus will launch a third model hitherto known as OnePlus 8 Pro, a phone that would be the one to compete with the industry’s titans such as the Galaxy S20 Ultra and the hitherto known as Huawei P40 Premium.
However, we can’t leave the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Lite behind, because they have a lot of interesting things to offer – at least that’s what it seems with all the leaked information.
The OnePlus 8 will keep the rear camera in the back of the phone, only now we will find three lenses instead of the two lenses in the OnePlus 7. Perhaps the most important change, however, is the front camera that will no longer be in the drop bevel format and will now fit into a hole in the upper left corner of the panel.
The overall design is likely to remain similar to that of the OnePlus 7 – and that’s not a bad thing. The OnePlus 7 was a very nice phone with the body made entirely of glass. Unfortunately for some users, it must be said that the rumors suggest that the headphone port will be conspicuous by its absence.
Other aspects in this cell phone would be the confirmed USB-C port, 90Hz or 120Hz screen in refresh rate, depending on what OnePlus wants to put in this model and the Snapdragon 865 processor that is the general characteristic of any cell phone of high-end this year.
The screen is perhaps what most intrigues it generates since OnePlus has said that it wants to place a fast update screen, but it is not sure if it will bet on the 90Hz one (like the Pixel 4) or it will place the 120Hz one that is more attractive, but it can also be a battery eater.
The rear camera maybe 48 or 64 megapixels, at least in its main lens. We can expect a second telephoto lens and a third wide-angle lens. RAM should be at least about 8GB.
OnePlus 8 Lite
The OnePlus 8 Lite is perhaps the least similar phone in the new family of the Chinese manufacturer. The cell phone, according to leaks, will have a design somewhat similar to Samsung’s Galaxy S20, especially when it comes to the rear camera.
The OnePlus 8 Lite will have a rectangular camera and would closely resemble the Samsung phone. However, OnePlus will place only two lenses inside that rectangle, surprising that it is a fairly large rectangle, but that it only has two cameras.
The screen would also have an update higher than 60Hz, most likely 90Hz, and leave 120Hz for the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro. The RAM would be between 6 and 8GB, its screen would be somewhat thicker than the bezels. the other two versions and the sides of the screen would not be curved, but straight.
Perhaps the worst news for the OnePlus 8 Lite is that it will run out of a headphone port, despite being a lower-priced phone than the other two models. Huawei and Google, when they launch a “Lite” model, place this headphone port, unlike the other more powerful models to highlight that feature and make it look more attractive.

OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Lite: Price and availability
The OnePlus 8 will be priced at around $600 (PKR 89,999), according to reports. While the OnePlus 8 Lite, if it wants to be as (or more) interesting as the Pixel 3a, it will have to hit the market with a price of $400 (PKR 68,999) or less, which is what the Google phone costs. OnePlus is expected to announce this pair of cell phones, along with the OnePlus 8 Pro, in the next two or three months.
