Artificial intelligence techniques can predict the personality of a human by tracking eye movement and helping with automated learning algorithms, a new study shows.
The study was conducted by a research team from the Universities of South Australia and Flinders, in collaboration with researchers from the University of Stuttgart and the Max Planck Institute in Germany. In their study, the researchers used the latest automated learning algorithms to establish a link between personality and eye movements. The researchers tracked the eye movement of 42 participants by smart glasses while performing daily tasks on campus, and then assessed their personality traits using questionnaires.
The results indicate that a person’s eye movements reveal whether they are social, fun or curious, using algorithms that recognize four of the five major personality traits: neuroticism, extroversion, agreeableness, and conscientiousness.
