Two weeks ago, Instagram promised you would be able to download your Instagram data from its servers. It includes photos, videos, comments, profile information and more. It does not, however, appear to include all the analytics data the company has on you outside of what you’ve shared.
If you want to download your Instagram data so that you can move to another platform or keep a copy of everything, you can do so now as part of the company ‘s commitment to the new privacy rules governing the protection of public data in Europe, More control over their data.
Currently, Instagram data download is mostly available on the web version, but will be released on iOS and Android soon.
How to Download Instagram Data through a Web Tool
- Go to instagram.com.
- Click the Settings icon next to the Edit profile option.
- Select Privacy and Security.
- Scroll down until you reach the data download.
- Click Download Request.
- Type your email address if it is not automatic.
- Click Next.
- Enter your password and click Request download.
From there, Instagram will create a file containing all the photos, videos, stories you’ve shared, and send an email link to the file so you can download it. This process can take up to 48 hours, so do not expect anything right away.
