Instagram allows its users to upload and edit both photos and videos before sharing them with the world, directly from their smartphones without any real effort. The social network has grown exponentially in terms of popularity over the past few years, causing businesses to take an interest and set up accounts to promote their products. There’s one feature that Instagram has been missing the ability to log in to multiple accounts at once, making it easier to switch and post new photos regularly. That has now changed, and here is where we show you how to add Multiple Accounts to Instagram on iOS and Android.
How to add Multiple Accounts to Instagram: Instagram slowly rolling out support for multiple logins on iOS and Android
Instagram is a hugely popular social network where people can edit share photos and videos with friends, and came from humble beginnings before being bought out by social media giant Facebook for a whopping $1bn. More recently, people have started creating alternative Instagram accounts to promote their websites and businesses, although, with no easy way to switch between accounts in-app, it’s a tough job.
It seems that Instagram has been listening to its users, as it is quietly rolling out multiple-login support for its iOS and Android apps. Multi-login support is available for users running Instagram version 7.15 or later, although the functionality is slowly being rolled out by Instagram and may not be available for everyone just yet. It isn’t even acknowledged in the app update notes, but trust us, it’s there.
If you have got the latest version of Instagram, simply head to the settings menu in-app, scroll to the bottom of the page and tap the ‘Add Account’ button. If it isn’t there, the functionality isn’t yet available to you, although force quitting and re-opening the app seemed to grant us access so it may work for other users, too. If you do have the option to add a new account, follow our tutorial below to set up multiple logins on Instagram and learn how to use it.
How to add Multiple Accounts to Instagram
1) To set up multiple-login support, the first thing you need to do is open the Instagram app. As mentioned above, the functionality is only available on Instagram version 7.15 and later, so make sure you’ve updated the app before continuing with the tutorial.
2) In the Instagram app, head to your Profile Page and tap on the Settings icon in the top right-hand corner. If the functionality has been activated on your account, scroll down to the bottom and tap the Add Account button.
3) You’ll be then taken to the Instagram login page but don’t be fooled into thinking you’ve been logged out, as this is where you input the login details of your second account.
4) If you’ve been successful, you should be taken to the profile page of your second account, and should be able to browse your feed, like and comment on posts as that user.
You’ll notice that the profile icon is now replaced by the icon of the account you’re currently logged into, avoiding mistakes like posting personal photos on a business account. To switch accounts, simply head to your profile page, tap the account name at the top of the app and select the account you’d like to switch to.
It’s also worth noting that you’ll receive notifications from all logged in users, with Instagram displaying the username of the account in brackets at the front of each notification for extra clarity.
